Our Story

Since our humble beginnings, MetroCount tech has been developed with a commitment to data accuracy and environmental sustainability. Our counters undergo rigorous R&D and testing before launch to ensure consistent ±99% accuracy and long-term battery and solar power reliability. Don't take our word for it! Several independent studies have proven the unmatched MetroCount performance. 

With an initial focus on road traffic monitoring, MetoCount has branched out into recording micromobility modes (e.g., bikes, e-scooters, and pedestrians) over the last decade.  This was a natural transition for us, with active transport picking up globally and the existing cyclist monitoring solutions falling short of our accuracy standards. And yes, we did say we're data perfectionists, but in monitoring micromobility where traffic volumes are significantly lower than on roads, number accuracy is crucial for discerning seasonal patterns and annual shifts.

Our energy-efficient systems are powered by batteries and the sun, allowing for ongoing data collection in the most remote locations. 

Every MetroCount device helps grow a mini forest. Since 2020, we've been planting 10 trees for each counter sold, doing our bit to boost biodiversity one sale at a time.

Our Rotterdam crew handles everything traffic survey-related. From installing systems to managing sites and delivering your data, they're on it. Based in the Netherlands but serving clients across Europe, they make sure your traffic surveys run smoothly.
