Our Story
Since our humble beginnings, our products have been developed with a commitment to accuracy and the environment. Today, we offer various solutions for monitoring and analysing road traffic or active transportation (ie. bikes, pedestrians). Beyond analysis, additional software tools have been developed for remotely managing survey networks.
International Growth
MetroCount now exports to and supports clients in over 125 countries. A talented team operate from four offices in Australia (Perth), United States (Maryland), UK (London) and Europe (Rotterdam). Our office in Rotterdam specialises in traffic survey management, from system installation to ongoing site management and data delivery. Servicing organisations in the Netherlands and beyond, this team provides an end-to-end solution to our European clients.
Traffic Monitoring Solutions
The MetroCount RoadPod® range includes systems for ongoing monitoring with inductive loops (RoadPod VL) and piezoelectric strips (RoadPod VP), or for short-term surveys with pneumatic tubes (RoadPod VT). Our new RoadPod VM system uses magnetometers, an alternative to loop counters, which will require an installation of less than 5 minutes.
In addition, MetroCount also offers the RidePod® range for monitoring active transport. Data from both permanent and short-term solutions is validated and processed using the MTE® software and then remotely fed into the ATLYST® analytics dashboard. Alternatively, data can be securely transferred into the client’s own database via API.

Giving back
Since 2020, MetroCount has partnered with the Eden Reforestation Projects to fund tree planting in third-world countries. Eden employs locals in poverty-stricken countries such as Haiti, Madagascar and Nepal to restore forests while simultaneously supporting the local economy.
For every counter sold, MetroCount has committed to cover all costs for planting 10 trees in one of these regions.
